To cap off an exciting competition, we are thrilled to host the Evolve DanceDown, held on the final day of competition.*

All Studio Standout Award recipients will re-compete for $1500 in additional CASH prizes. Our judging panel will each pick their favourite performance(s) from the Mini/Junior and also the Teen/Senior categories. The judge’s selections are based purely on the performance in the Evolve DanceDown!

The Evolve DanceDown is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available for purchase ONLINE only. Please see your event overview for details and links.

FAQ

1) Do I need a ticket to watch the DanceDown?

Yes! Tickets are required for anyone who wants to watch the DanceDown from the audience. Tickets go on sale the first day of the competition. Dancers (not performing in the DanceDown) who wish to watch from the audience require a ticket. Dancers performing in the DanceDown will be allowed in the audience, space permitting.

2) Who qualifies for the DanceDown?

To qualify for the DanceDown, a studio must have a minimum of 20 entries registered in the competition. From there, each studio will be awarded a Studio Standout award for their highest scoring Mini/Junior Group/Line and highest scoring Teen/Senior Group/Line. These group/line routines will all be invited back to compete in the DanceDown for an additional $1500 in cash prizes. Solo, Duo/Trio and Production entries do not qualify for the DanceDown. Group and Line entries must come from the Intermediate or Advanced divisions.

3) Are there any special performers in the DanceDown?

Yes! We invite the highest scoring Performance Division entry, and the highest scoring Adult Division entry back to re-perform in the DanceDown. This is an optional performance opportunity only. Routines are not competing for the $1500 cash prize. **subject to seating availability in the venue, and event scheduling.

4) What happens if we qualify, but can’t perform in the DanceDown due to another commitment?

We understand! As much as we would love to have you perform on the Evolve stage again, please email dance@evolvedancecompetition.com ASAP to let us know you are unable to perform.

5) Will the DanceDown be live streamed?

Yes, the DanceDown will be live streamed on EvolveTV and in the DanceBug app.

6) Will we be able to access the videos and photos from the DanceDown?

No, unfortunately the videos and photos from the DanceDown will not be made available after the event. But don’t worry - all the photos and videos from the regular competition are included with registration, and every dancer can access their photos/vides HERE.

7) How long is the DanceDown?

Depending on location and number of qualifying entries, the DanceDown will be 1-2 hours long.

*A minimum of 500 regional entries is required in order to hold the Evolve DanceDown. In the event there are less than 500 entries, a modified DanceDown with reduced cash prizes may be held, at the directors discretion.
